What are the Conservatives promising to do for the people of Leeds North West when we win the next General Election?

1. Inheritance tax for millionaires only
The average price of a detached home in most of Leeds North West is above the current inheritance tax threshold. We will ensure that most people here don't have to pay it on their homes. We will do this by upping the inheritance tax threshold to £1 million.

2. Give head teachers the final say in schools
We will abolish the appeals system that puts excluded children back into schools against the wishes of their head teachers, making local Heads the boss in schools.

3. Abolish stamp duty for most first time buyers
We will help young people and first-time buyers get on the housing latter by scrapping stamp duty on homes under £250,000 - this is great news for Leeds North West where the average flat price is £176,000 – £51,000 above the current limit.

4. Make Leeds a transport priority
In meetings at St Chad's, Shadow Transport Minister Theresa Villiers pledged to make Leeds' transport system a top priority.
