Lansley backs community hospital
Julia wanted Shadow Health Minister Andrew Lansley to see the good work being done at the Wharfedale, so invited him to Otley to meet patients and staff. He is fully supportive of our community hospital.
Recession locally
Julia invited Shadow Chancellor George Osbourne to Headingley to find out for himself how local businesses are faring. They say the recession is worse in the UK than elsewhere due to high levels of debt.
Tinshill Wreck...
Julia is concerned about the state of Tinshill Rec and in lieu of local Lib Dems taking action, has herself taken up the issue with Leeds City Council.
Julia at Otley's Fayre
Julia and her team supported Otley's Victorian Fayre this Christmas by taking a stall selling homemade soup. Despite the wet weather, stall holders spirits were high but trade could have been brisker.
