Local girl, born and bred

Julia is a local Yorkshire girl. A Garnett by birth, Julia's family goes back to the 1700s in Otley. She has lived in and near Leeds North West for much of her life, attending Farnley C of E Primary School, just 1.5 miles from Otley. She is married to Patrick with two daughters and runs a successful business in Leeds.

Working for you

Julia has been working for you since November 2006 across a host of local issues such as improving Otley's loos, road safety at Maple Grange bends, congestion on the A660, rail 'halts' at Woodside, playing pitches in Headingley and Post offices in Bramhope, Otley and Far Headingley. You can find out more on this site.

Working for change

Julia believes local MPs are not sticking up for our area. It is time for a better deal - like the state-of-the-art High Speed Rail line between Leeds and London that a new Conservative government would begin immediately. And the proposed freeze on Council Tax, which Julia urges the Liberal Democrats on Leeds City Council to support and help local families. In short, we need an MP at the heart of Government, which means voting for change.
